UP Electricity Theft Complaint can now be made online, Uttar Pradesh government has launched Bijli Mitra Portal for it. Now any person in the state can report a case of bijli chori at bijlimitra.uppcl.org. It is not mandatory for the complainant to enter their name, address, mobile number and other ID proof which would reveal their identity. UP Electricity Theft Complaint Online Registration 2024
STEP 1: First of all, visit the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited official website at https://uppcl.org/uppcl/hi/
STEP 2: At the homepage, go to ‘शिकायत/स्टेटस‘ section and click “बिजली मित्र पोर्टल (चोरी की शिकायत)” link.
STEP 3: Direct Link – https://bijlimitra.uppcl.org/
STEP 4: Upon clicking the link, UPPCL Bijli Mitra Portal will appear as shown below:-
STEP 5: At the opened page, click at “बिजली चोरी की शिकायत करने हेतु क्लिक करें” link.
STEP 6: On clicking the link, the page to make UP Electricity Theft Complaint Registration will appear as shown below:-
STEP 7: Enter name of the person who is doing electricity theft (if available), place of electricity theft (mandatory), district name (mandatory), other details like landmark & description of electricity theft being done (if available), captcha, upload any photo/video (if available) and click “Submit” button to register UP Electricity Theft complaint online.
Action on Electricity Theft Complaint in UP
After receiving UP Electricity Theft Complaint online, a team of electricity department officials will reach the place where incident of theft is taking place. The team may comprise of an executive engineer, city SDO, civil and police officials. This team will check the type of electricity theft taking place.
The types of electricity theft may include bypassing meter, disparity in meter reading, zero reading, irregualrity in installed meters, among others. The electricity department can file an appropriate fine as well as can register case against the person doing electricity theft. Even the electrical appliances using stolen power can be seized.
