Now animal rearer farmers in Rajasthan state who owns livestock and raises them as part of a livestock production farming system can make MMPBY online registration. This new Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana in Rajasthan would replace the earlier Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Bima Yojana. Premium Amount under Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana
It is worth noting that the state govt. had announced Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana in the Rajasthan Budget 2024-25. In this scheme, the govt. has set a target to provide insurance coverage to 21 lakh animals with an outlay of Rs. 400 crore. Insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakh each for milch cow, milch buffalo, goat, sheep/lamb and Rs. 1 lakh for She Camel would be provided. Conditions Covered in Rajasthan Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana
Insurance claim will be available for farmers under Rajasthan Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana in case of death of milch animals due to the following reasons:-
Any natural or accidental accident like fire,
Road accident,
Lightning,
Eating poisonous grass,
Insect bite,
Any disease,
Other reasons.
Need for Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana
Small farmers depend on regular income from livestock but the risk of livestock death is high. Such animal keeper farmers net worth and income is affected if something bad happens to the livestock. To protect animal keeping farmers from this type of loss, Rajasthan Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana 2024 has been launched. It aims to provide insurance coverage in case of death or accident happening to livestock.
Through MMPBY Rajasthan, farmers would be able to sustain their livelihood by using money generated through the sale of milk of livestock. Rajasthan government is committed for development of valuable livestock wealth and increasing livestock production for financial stability of animal keeper farmers.
Benefits of Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana
Currently, livestock rearers do not get any compensation for animals killed in accidents. Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana will provide financial support for such livestock farmers. Rajasthan govt. is going to release animal insurance scheme guidelines soon so that the objective of this announcement can be fulfilled. To ensure that all livestock owners get the benefits of insurance, all Janadhar card holders will be eligible to apply for livestock insurance.
To provide insurance benefits under Rajasthan Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana, a dedicated software will be prepared by the Insurance Department. All the applications will be invited from animal keeper farmers on it. Based on the applications received, animal rearer farmers will be selected for insurance by lottery.
