What is ONORC Scheme?
Central government has implemented One Nation One Ration Card Scheme in the entire country. At present, ONORC scheme is functional in all 36 states and union territories across India. Earlier, Ration Card holders were bound to take ration from FPS located within the state from where ration card has been issued. ONORC beneficiaries can get ration from any shop located within the state/UT or outside it through point of sale machine (POS).

Registration for new ration card is available for other than home state also. An individual can become a Ration Card mitra to register for ration card on behalf of needy / left out people. Representatives of panchayats, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) / Municipalities, or other recognized bodies of good repute can also become the ration card mitra on invite basis.
