CM Kisan Scheme Installment Transfer

CM KISAN Yojana aims to provide Rs. 925 crores of financial assistance to 46 lakh small and marginal farmers who are not covered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana. Eligible farmers will receive a total of Rs. 4,000 in two phases.

  • 1st installment: The first installment of Rs. 2,000 will be distributed every year on Nuakhai. For the year 2024, Naukhai is on 8th September 2024 and
  • 2nd installment: The remaining installment of Rs. 2,000 will be provided on Akshaya Tritiya.

In addition, the scheme will also benefit landless farmers who were excluded from the PM Kisan Yojana. The government aims to extend support to this section of the farming community through the CM Kisan Yojana.

Benefits of CM Kisan Yojana in Odisha

CM Kisan Scheme in Odisha aims to provide financial support to eligible farmers for their crops in all seasons. The following financial assistance would be provided to the beneficiaries of CM Kisan and PM Kisan Scheme in Odisha.

  • Small and Marginal Farmers (rural beneficiaries) will get Rs. 4000 p.a under CM Kisan Scheme. Moreover, Small and Marginal farmers (both rural & urban beneficiaries) will get Rs. 6000 p.a under PM Kisan Scheme.
  • Medium / Large Farmers (rural & urban beneficiary) will get Rs. 6000 p.a under PM Kisan Scheme.
  • Landless agricultural households (each landless agricultural household) will get Rs. 12,500 as CM Kisan Yojana benefit.
  • Farmers can buy farming equipment, seeds, fertilisers and pesticides with the assistance amount.
  • Odisha govt. will also provide scholarships to the children of the beneficiaries of CM Kisan Yojana to pursue technical studies.
  • The scheme will also help in increasing crop production which would then result in farmer’s empowerment.
  • Small and marginal farmers, landless agricultural household, vulnerable agricultural household, landless agricultural labourers and sharecroppers (actual cultivators) are eligible.
  • Around 46 lakh small and marginal farmers would be benefited from CM Kisan Yojana.
  • The state govt. will incur an expenditure of Rs. 925 crore on CM Kisan Scheme 1st phase implementation.

Odisha CM Kisan Yojana 2024 Launch

The hon’ble CM of Odisha has launched CM Kisan Yojana at an event in Gangadhar Meher University on 8th September 2024 (Sunday). While launching the scheme, CM Majhi said, “On the auspicious occasion of Nuakhai, we have launched the CM Kisan Yojana. A total of 46 lakh farmers, including landless farmers, will benefit. Under the yojana, Rs. 925 crore will be transferred to their accounts through DBT.”

Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) Yojana was the flagship scheme of the previous BJD government. Now with the election of BJP govt. in the Odisha state, Kalia Scheme has been renamed as CM Kisan Yojana.

CM Majhi on Launch of CM Kisan Scheme

While launching the scheme on 8th Sept 2024, CM Majhi said “Since from Nuakhai the preparations for Rabi crop begin, you will get the amount today. With the assistance money, you can buy farming equipment, seeds, fertilisers and pesticides well in advance”. CM added that the state government will provide scholarships to the children of the beneficiaries of CM Kisan Yojana to pursue technical studies.

The Chief Minister also mentioned the state’s ideas to launch the Balabhadra Yojana to promote organic farming in Odisha. “The state government will soon launch the Balabhadra Yojana to promote organic farming in Odisha. Notably, the BJP government in Odisha announced Samrudha Krushaka Yojana for farmers in the Budget for 2024-25 financial year,” he said.

He further stated that the state government would purchase paddy at Rs. 3,100 per quintal from farmers in the state under the new scheme. Notably, the Centre announced Rs. 2,300 as MSP for paddy for this fiscal. CM Majhi also inaugurated the Krushak Odisha Unified Portal of the Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Department.

CM-Kisan Scheme in Odisha Budget 2024-25

On 25th July 2025, Finance minister presented Odisha budget 2024-25 in which he said “Our government is emphasizing on raising farmers’ income by supporting an inclusive and sustainable agricultural transformation. We have taken steps to include the farmers of both rural and urban areas of the State, irrespective of land holdings to avail financial assistance of Rs. 6000 per annum under PM-KISAN scheme as per the Government of India guidelines. To further augment the farmer’s income, we will provide additional top-up under the scheme CM-KISAN for which an allocation of Rs. 1935 crore is proposed for 2024-25.”
