  • Firstly visit the official website https://enps.nsdl.com/eNPS/NationalPensionSystem.html
  • At the homepage, scroll down to reach “Who can Register for NPS?” section.

  • Any individual applicant can click “Register Now” tab under ‘Individual Subscribers‘ to open individual subscriber registration form.

  • Enter Date of Birth, Permanent Account Number (PAN), Mobile Number, Email ID and click at “Begin Registration” button.
  • Then an OTP would be sent on mobile number and email ID. Enter the OTP received to validate it and then an Acknowledgement ID would be generated.

  • Once acknowledgement ID is generated, click at “Continue” button to open National Pension Scheme online application form 2024.

National Pension System (NPS) Offline Registration

Points of Presence (PoPs) have been appointed by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) to service you, including your registration and acceptance of further contributions. If you prefer to access the NPS system offline, the following steps need to be followed.

  • Avail your PRAN (Permanent Retirement Account Number) application number from your preferred PoP-SP. You can also avail the PRAN application form by visiting the official NPS website.
  • Fill out the PRAN application form with accurate details regarding scheme preference. You would also be required to provide a photograph, signature, and relevant KYC documentation.
  • Submit the PRAN application form at the PoP-SP. The CRA (Central Recordkeeping Agency) will send your PRAN card to your registered address.
  • You can track the status of your application with the receipt number provided by the PoP-SP on submission of the PRAN form.
  • Pay the amount required for your first contribution and submit your contribution slip to the POP-SP.
  • To find the nearest PoP-SP, you can visit the CRA website – https://npscra.nsdl.co.in/pop-sp.php

Who can register for NPS?

  • Individual Subscribers:
    • Between 18-70 years can join
    • Easy and multiple registration options (Aadhaar, Digilocker etc.)
    • Open Tier I (Pension A/c) and Tier II (Add-on investment A/c).
  • Government Subscribers:
    • Central Govt./ State Govt. (including autonomous bodies) employees covered in NPS.
    • Employees joined after applicable date mandatorily covered in NPS.
    • Open Tier I (Pension A/c), Tier II (Add on investment A/c), TTS A/c.
  • Corporate Subscribers:
    • Employees of Corporates who have adopted NPS can join.
    • Get additional Tax Benefits on employers contribution.
    • Flexibilty in choosing contribution (employer/employee), pension fund etc.
  • NRI and OCI Subscribers:
    • Between 18-70 years can join on repatriation or non-repatriation basis.
    • Contributions to come from NRE and NRO A/c.
    • For repatriation of amount, contributions should be made from NRE A/c only.
  • APY Subscribers:
    • Any citizen of India between 18-40 years can join.
    • Applicable for Non-Income Tax payers only.
    • Easy online registration options (Online/Offline Aadhaar).
  • GDS Subscribers:
    • Employees covered under SDBS are eligible to join.
    • Between 18-65 years can join.
