Gomata Scheme 2024 Approved by Odisha Cabinet, Check Fund Allocation

Odisha cabinet has approved new state sector scheme namely Gomata Scheme in ARD sector on 13th November 2024. Full form of Gomata is “Goal for Management and Treatment of Animals”. Under this scheme, the Odisha state government would facilitate vaccination of 2.5 crore livestock per year. Even the state govt. will carry out treatment of 1.3 crore livestock per annum.

What is Gomata Scheme Odisha?

Gomata Yojana aims to benefit the livestock farmers of the Odisha state through delivery of veterinary service at veterinary institutions and at farmers doorstep through treatment, vaccination, disease control and surveillance. The implementation of the scheme will facilitate phase wise vaccination of 2.5 crore and treatment of 1.3 crore livestock annually.

The new Gomata scheme in Odisha will be implemented in the state for 3 years from FY 2024-25 to 2026-27 with a total budget outlay of Rs. 342.6587 crore. To avail scheme benefits, livestock owners will have to apply online for sub-schemes under Gomata Yojna at https://fard.odisha.gov.in/

Other Decisions in Odisha Cabinet Meeting

In addition to the Gomata Scheme Odisha, the state cabinet has also approved the Mukhyamantri Maschyajibi Kalyan Yojana. This MMKY scheme would be implemented with an outlay of nearly Rs. 2,239 crore for five years starting from FY 2024-25. The scheme with 17 sub-schemes will cover all sectors of fisheries and benefit 6,67,500 fishermen and 7,32,500 WSHG members.

Besides, the cabinet cleared infrastructure development of ARD and fisheries sectors with outlays of Rs 449.71 crore and Rs 696.21 crore for a period of three years from 2024-25. The cabinet also approved the extension of Water Sector Infrastructure Development Programme (WSIDP) scheme with an estimated cost of Rs 9,652.24 crore for a period of five years.
