MP Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana 2024 – Additional Rs. 3900 / Hectare to Farmers

Madhya Pradesh government has decided to increase assistance under Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana 2024. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav presided over cabinet committee meeting in Singrampur of Damoh district held in honor of Veerangana Rani Durgavati’s contributions where this decision has been taken. Cabinet Approval for MP Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana 2024

On 5 October 2024, MP cabinet meeting was held at Singrampur village in Damoh district which gave its nod for increase in Rani Durgawati Anna Protsahan Yojana assistance. During the meeting, the cabinet approved an additional assistance of up to Rs. 3,900 per hectare to each farmer under the scheme. This amount will be provided to farmers in addition to the minimum purchase price paid by the Federation for the purchase of Kodo-Kutki.

For the 2024-25 plan year, the assistance will be directly transferred to farmers’ accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). The primary objective of MP Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana is to encourage production of millets in the state. The area for millet production has also been fixed at 1 lakh hectare.

What is Rani Durgavati Shree Anna Protsahan Yojana?

Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana will prove to be a boon for Shree Anna (millets) producing farmers. Under this scheme, farmers producing millets will get fair prices for their produce which will also encourage other farmers to produce millets. After becoming the Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav has taken this historic decision to implement the scheme in the interest of millets producing farmers. He not only took the decision, but also passed the proposal of the scheme in the very first cabinet held in Jabalpur earlier on January 3, 2024.

Under Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana, Rs. 3900 per hectare will be transferred into the accounts of farmers as assistance amount in addition to the minimum purchase price paid to the farmers on Kodo-Kutki purchased by the State Government and the Federation through DBT. Millet producing farmers would be benefited through their capacity building, special packaging of Kodo Kutki and millets branding activities.

Benefits of Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana

Better marketing system would be provided to farmers which would help them in getting fair prices for their millets. For effective implementation of the scheme, MP government has issued guidelines to organize the FPOs/groups (already engaged in small grain processing, marketing, etc.) into federation.

Millets producing farmers, FPOs/groups will be organized as a state level federation. Usage of new technology in producing millets particularly Kodo Kutki and its processed products will help these millets to get unique identity at the national and international level.

This will help in developing the value chain for Shri Anna through the federation formed by the FPO and increasing the income of the farmers engaged in the cultivation of Kodo-Kutki.

Cabinet Approves Crop Loan Scheme at 0% Interest

MP cabinet has decided to provide short-term crop loans to farmers at zero percent interest rate. These loans would be distributed through cooperative banks. Zero interst crop loan scheme will now continue in the financial year 2024-25.

MP Jain Welfare Board to Be Constituted

Cabinet committee has even decided to constitute the Madhya Pradesh Jain Welfare Board. It would be the first of its kind in the country. This decision has been taken to effectively implement various schemes of the government regarding the education of talented children and youth of the Jain community, social concerns like the migration of Jain Munis, security during Chaturmas, better education and improvement in conditions etc. with special reference to the Jain community.

The new MP Jain Welfare board will have a chairman and two members. Formation of the board will ensure better implementation of welfare/public welfare schemes of the government for the people of the Jain community and class. This will give impetus to the economic, social, and educational development of the Jain community. The tenure of the board will be fixed for 2 years for Shwetambar Samaj and 2 years for Digambar Samaj.

Other decisions

The Cabinet has decided that due to the merger of the erstwhile Medical Education Department and the Public Health and Family Welfare Department, academic uniformity should be brought in the nursing colleges running under both departments. For this, by converting the autonomous nursing training institutes into government nursing training institutes, all the 428 posts already approved for the autonomous nursing college will be administered under the service recruitment rules of the Public Health and Medical Education Department.

The Cabinet also gave in-principle consent for the upgradation of the airstrip located in Damoh district.
